Here we are already well into the new year and I am framing work for upcoming shows and eagerly awaiting the return of warmer weather. I miss painting outside so much! Enough winter already! I recently abated a little of my cabin fever by hanging paintings at the Belfast C0-op Cafe, in nearby Belfast, Maine. They are landscapes from midcoast and downeast Maine, and will be up for the month of February.
I will also have a few paintings in the annual "Radius" fundraising show in March at Åarhus Gallery, also in Belfast, and again will be showing a few more paintings in Åarhus's group show during the month of May on the theme of "Sky." I'm so happy to be included in this exhibit - not only is the gallery terrific but I've been making some paintings lately that are almost all sky.
Also in May around ten paintings of mine will be in the "2014 Season Invitational" exhibit when Landing Gallery in Rockland, Maine begins its summer schedule. The opening is during the first Friday art walk on May 2, from 5-8 p.m. This will be my fourth year showing work throughout the season with this great gallery.
Speaking of which, I'm very excited to say that Landing Gallery will also have a solo show of my work from June 6 - July 27, with an opening during the first Friday art walk on June 6, from 5-8 p.m. The show is called "Sea Level" and will feature around 35 of my paintings describing places where ocean meets land, mostly small plein air works with a few larger studio paintings too. Below is one of the paintings that will be in the show, it's a 16" x 20" oil on canvas I made on site at McClellan Park in Milbridge, Maine last year - one of my all-time favorite places to paint. In fact, I can't wait to get back there when spring arrives! Any day now...?

Please contact me or the galleries for more information about any of these shows. I also want to say an enormous THANK YOU to friends, family, and unknown-to-me art lovers who came out to see shows last year. I had a very successful year and I appreciate your support and interest so much!
